Cesaro Working In The Ring Again While Speculation Runs Rampant Regarding Possible Forbidden Door Appearance

It looks like Cesaro may be preparing for a return to the ring.

Earlier this week on AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson announced he will not be able to compete at Forbidden Door or Blood and Guts. However, he confirmed that there will be a surprise replacement to face Zack Sabre Jr. at this Sunday’s Forbidden Door event. Speculation has been rampant on who will face Sabre Jr, with many suggesting it could be the Swiss Superman.

Fightful Select have now reported that Cesaro is back in the ring.

Fightful spoke to several promoters several months ago and since then, who confirmed they’d reached out to reps for Claudio Castagnoli, but there didn’t seem to be much interest on that side of things at that point. However, Claudio has been in the ring. Fightful can confirm that he’s been at Flatbacks in Orlando multiple times over the last several weeks, training in the ring. We haven’t heard an update on if he’ll actually be the replacement this week, but he has been working in the ring again.

Cesaro quietly left the WWE earlier this year following his WWE contract expiring. He has not competed since and had not given an inkling of when he will return to the squared circle. Time will tell if Claudio will be the replacement for Danielson this Sunday.
