RVD Talks About Staying In The WWE Despite Not Wanting To Be There
Rob Van Dam had a time period where he wasn’t a fan of how he was being booked in the WWE.
In the early 2000s, Rob Van Dam was a solid midcarder and fringe main evented in the WWE. He would eventually receive a world title push after winning the Money In The Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 22.
RVD was burned out around the time WWE’s version of ECW came around, but he still stayed. While speaking on “Rewind Recap Relive,” RVD revealed that he wanted to leave WWE before the ECW reboot.
“Before that I was kinda feeling, ‘I don’t know how much longer I’m gonna stick around.’ I really needed a break. The monotony, the politics, feeling like it didn’t matter, I didn’t matter, and then all of a sudden, boom, I remember saying, ‘Dude, I’m good, man, I can go another 10 years right like this. Let’s get ECW going. Let’s build it up!’”

Of course, RVD would end up returning to the company in the 2010’s. Time will tell if we will see RVD grace our screens in the WWE anytime soon.
