Alexander Volkanovski Addresses Future Lightweight Move, Looking For Double-Champ Status
Alexander Volkanovski is set to defend his Featherweight Championship this Saturday against Max Holloway.
Ahead of his Pay-Per-View bout, Alex sat down with the media to address his past comments about possibly moving up to go after the 155 pound championship.
It has to be for the belt. I think I deserve that, people take “money fights”, whatever it is, you know the real big fights. Obviously, would be motivating and something I’d want to do, but I want to go for that double-champ status. Let’s worry about Max this weekend, but I definitely see myself calling for whoever has that belt. There’s so many big names there as well. There’s big names in that division. Whoever has that belt will be a big fight purely just me fighting for another belt’s going to be massive. I don’t want to just move up and let that belt go. You see I want to be active, I just fought a few months ago. I don’t know if one division can keep me busy enough, give me two divisions then. I’ll keep them both busy.
