Doctor Reportedly States Santana Injury “Does Not Look Good” Ahead Of MRI

Santana’s injury could be even worse than first thought.

Last night during Blood And Guts, Santana entered the match like a house on fire, bringing in a barbed wire baseball bat as his chosen weapon. Upon entering the double cages, Santana attempted to perform a uranage, but upon completion of the news, Santana’s leg completely buckled, leaving him unable to partake in the rest of the match. For a long time during the match, Santana laid down at the edge of the case, with commentary not mentioning him throughout the rest of the match. As the match headed to the top of the cages, the camera angle was changed to cut out the inside of the cage and Santana was helped to the back.

Santana had to undergo an MRI to check on the extent of the damage. Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the injury on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.

“You could see when he did the uranage, he just like, pretty much his leg gave out and he just collapsed… He crawled around and tried to do stuff, but he really couldn’t do much of anything at that point. “

Alvarez noted that the doctor said “things do not look good” for Santana. Many have speculated the leg injury is related to his knee, but we will not know for sure until Santana has his MRI.
