Tonight is UFC 276 and the Drake curse could make an appearance in the main event between Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya vs. Jared Cannonier.
Adesanya put out a clip of his conversation with Drake on Friday night, he putting the caption “Goat Talk” between one of the all-time middleweight greats and one of the biggest performers in music today.
The Drake curse has happened to the Golden State Warriors in 2016, Conor McGregor in preparation for his fight vs. Khabib in 2018, Anthony Joshua 4 weeks before his knockout loss vs. Andy Ruiz Jr.
Recently it has been the curse for Jorge Masvidal who Drake bet 275K on only for them to lose by decision to Colby Covington, Drake then bet 550K on Justin Gaethje who was then submitted by Charles Oliveira at UFC 274 in the first round.
Adesanya has overcome a lot of doubters to be where he’s at right now. The current Middleweight champion defends against Cannonier tonight, this is his 4th defense and he is undefeated at Middleweight in the UFC. Adesanya has the second longest winning streak at Middleweight with 11.
