Donald Cerrone Announces Retirement from MMA
The Cowboy has decided to hang up the gloves and ride off into the sunset after a historical career filled with many highs to remember.
Donald Cerrone fought against Jim Miller in a rematch to now determine the leader for most wins in UFC history, both men threw a kick, Cerrone was caught and finished with a guillotine. Following the loss he would take off the gloves and place them in the octagon, announcing he was going to be retiring from the fight game.
This marked the 2nd time in his career that Cerrone was finished by a submission, the last time was at WEC 48 in April of 2010 when he lost by guillotine to Benson Henderson for the WEC Lightweight championship.
Cerrone racked up a record of 36-16-2, defeating notable names like Charles Oliveira, Dennis Siver, Jeremy Stephens, KJ Noons, Edson Barboza, Eddie Alvarez, Henderson, Matt Brown and Al Iaquinta.
The Cowboy will forever be remembered for never backing down from a fight and bringing it every time he stepped in the octagon, Cerrone said he looks forward to becoming a movie star and after starring in Gina Carano’s Terror on the Prairie, we could be seeing more of him on the big screen.
