Jim Ross Thinks AEW PPV’s May Be Too Long

It looks like fans may not be the only ones upset with the length of AEW PPVs.

AEW PPV run times have been a constant source of fan opinion for a long time. Most recently, Forbidden Door ran a long length and for most fans, this was fine. But there is a vocal amount of fans who have complained about the run time of the shows at almost every AEW PPV.

On the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, the legendary commentator spoke specifically about the length of Forbidden Door. While he referenced some fan’s complaints about the show’s length, he enjoyed the quality of matches overall and said that all mattered to him in the end.

I thought that [Forbidden Door] was exceptional. It was long, that was maybe a negative for some people, but the talent worked their asses off and that, to me, is where it starts and ends. Great effort and preparation … We had a lot of show-stopping matches and a lot of matches where guys put on spots to raise their game. For example, the very unique Orange Cassidy, who is a gimmick guy, had a hell of a match with Will Ospreay, who’s a much better wrestler than is Orange Cassidy, but we saw Orange Cassidy could wrestle. He did the honors, he lost the match, so what? I just enjoyed the hell out of that show.
