WES Cancels Saturday Show, Cite Talent Not Turning Up
It looks like Authors Of Pain’s wrestling organization has hit another roadblock.
WES originally were set to debut earlier this year, but were forced to postpone the event. Their first show was moved to this Saturday, with changes made to the card in order to ensure the event could go as planned.
Unfortunately, WES took to Twitter on Wednesday and announced that the event would be cancelled due to talent not showing up for the show.
“Dear fans and followers, Unfortunately we will have to cancel the event scheduled for this Saturday at the Motorpoint arena in Nottingham, England. We are deeply disappointed in the news that we have to share but with so many talent not showing up we will have no choice then to cancel the event.
Our team worked so hard on this event day in and day out for the fans to come with a different type of wrestling event and believe that we still will be able to show that in the near future.
We do want to say that all our talent that was scheduled have been paid in full and that Lina Fanene was paid her deposit as well while she changed her mind and did not want to show up and wrestle anymore. For now we will have to apologize for this, but we promise that it will not end here. See you soon!
– Team WES”
It was revealed earlier this week that WES had not sold many tickets for the event, with many questioning their practises when Nia Jax spoke out against the company.
Sean Ross Sapp also posted an update saying:
“I’ve followed up with several people who were scheduled for the WES show, who confirmed they’ve been paid for the canceled event. All those were based in North America. We’ve heard from multiple UK talent that claim they have NOT been paid”
