Roy Jones Jr Bashes Zuffa Boxing: If You Don’t Do Good By Your Own People, What Makes Me Think You’ll Do Good By Mine?

Roy Jones Jr called out Zuffa Boxing and wants to get to the bottom of the charades he feels they’re playing.

Roy Jones Jr believes the sport of Boxing is in jeopardy with Zuffa Boxing with a TKO-backed bill that would allow the operation of Unified Boxing Organizations (UBOs), which would change how boxing operates in America today, as under the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act.

UBOs would be able to introduce their own titles instead of sanctioning bodies. Supporters of the bill highlight positive aspects such as minimum pay per round, while opponents, such as Jones Jr., see UBOs creating a monopoly in the sport by skirting around the protections implemented by the original Ali Act.

“First of all, if you made the Muhammad Ali Act to save or look out for the boxers, why would you go change it for a promoter?” Jones Jr. told Fight Hub TV. “You basically change it back saying, ‘OK, you put these security bars on the building so no one can break in, but since he lives in the neighborhood now and we know he likes to break in stores, we’ll give him the key to it and change it so he can get in. Come on, bro? Really?

“… If it was that good, all the ex-UFC fighters would be talking about it, and they would be saying good things about it. They don’t. So, if you didn’t do good by your own people, what makes me think you’ll do good by mine?”

“Look at most of the fighters that retire from the UFC,” Jones Jr. said. “Even the ones that come to boxing to make their real payday. They built up a name in UFC, but they couldn’t make a payday. So, you want me to bring that same ol’ to boxing? Why would I do that? So, I can’t accept it. I’m sorry. I’m not the guy that says, ‘Oh, you evil.’ I’m not gonna say all that, but I can’t accept that. My sport gives better payout to your people than your sport did, then why would I want you change my sport? It just don’t make sense.”

“It probably is (going to pass), but it’s gonna ruin boxing, though,” Jones Jr. said. “It’s going to ruin boxing, totally. … They’re going to be basically slaves. They’re going to be owned sheep. You don’t get to decide what you wear no more, you don’t get to decide who you are no more, you have no identity. You’re basically a sheep that does what your master says do, and that’s wrong – but if that’s what they want, it’s on them. I’m through with boxing, thank God, because if it was me, I would have moved out the country.

“… They’re going to determine if you become that superstar. Not your skills, not your ability, not your talent. They gonna determine who becomes who. Same as UFC. They determine who becomes who. It’s not about talent and winning no more, it’s about who they want there. That’s what they’re trying to do to boxing. I’m Sorry, that’s not right, I don’t care who you are.”

Recently, it was reported that Shakur Stevenson would be making the move to Zuffa Boxing in the future.

Update on Mayweather-Pacquiao 2, Previous Venue Now Booked

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao were scheduled to have a boxing match on September 19, and they were supposed to fight at The Sphere in Las, Vegas, live on Netflix. But, is that truly the case?

Talks for this fight seemed to be all good. Everything looked to be a-go. That was until Floyd made mention of it being an “Exhibition Bout”. Suddenly, Manny and his team switched tunes and things started to get quiet. While there hasn’t been any update on if the fight is even taking place anymore, Boxing insider Andreas Hale noted today that The Sphere, which was supposed to play host to the fight on September 19, now is booked on that same date for the Eagles concert.

This immediately raised eyebrows on if the fight has been canceled, and promoted Andreas to reach out about said fight. Andreas notes that he reached out to both Mayweather and Pacquiao’s teams, as well as Netflix, to no avail.

Now, more issues come into play if the fight itself doesn’t take place at all. Andreas Hale pointed out that multiple production companies, as well at Netflix being attached to this fight, could cause some chaos.

”I could definitely be a WWE-, I’m a diva, for real! [..] Yes, yeah, funny story, me, my sister and our friend growing up, we were big WWE fans. We literally thought we were divas and we lit fireworks in the room to have our own walkout. That’s how serious it was! Listen, mom came in the room “what’s that smell?” We had sparklers and it was so funny. I was like yeah, this is real deal. We’re divas.”

She noted that her favorites were Trish Stratus and John Cena, and that her father even surprised her with tickets as a kid. That’s when she revealed the conversations with the company.

And when we talk about building a brand, we talk about bigger and better, I’m not just a fighter. I’m not just a boxer. This is what, I think that’s why they mad because they got to box. I don’t have to box. I love to box, I choose to box. And, yeah, we’re building something big. We’re building a brand that is made to last. Like I said, baby, that’s on solid rock.”

She mentioned they’ve both reached out to each other, and while she hasn’t physically tested the waters yet, she’s friends with Jade Cargill, and recently invited her to her fight. But, Jade couldn’t make it due to WrestleMania. Yet, both still support each other.

WrestleMania is live on April 18 and 19. Alycia Baumgardner (17-1, 7 KOs) is scheduled to defend her WBA, WBO, and IBF titles against Bo Mi Re Shin on April 17 at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden.

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 13, 2026) — Manny Pacquiao Promotions (MPP) today announced the official signing of a landmark partnership with Team Boxing League (TBL), solidifying Manny Pacquiao’stransition from global boxing icon to franchise owner and long-term stakeholder in the future of the sport.

As part of the agreement, Pacquiao and Manny Pacquiao Promotions will join the ownership group of the San Diego TJ’s, marking a major step in the evolution of boxing toward a team-based, league-driven model built on ownership, structure, and global scalability.

The partnership represents a nine-figure commitment centered on long-term platform growth, positioning Pacquiao at the forefront of a new era in boxing — one defined by equity participation, recurring competition, and global expansion across sports, media, and entertainment. “This is not just about fighting anymore,” said Pacquiao. “This is a new chapter in my life. I have accomplished everything I wanted in boxing, and now I want to build something bigger than myself. I truly believe this is the League of Destiny, and I want to help shape the future of boxing and create opportunities for the next generation. I’m proud to build Manny Pacquiao’s San Diego TJ’s and bring something special to fans around the world.”

Team Boxing League introduces a fast-paced, team-based competition format featuring city-based franchises, seasonal play, and a structured path to championship contention. The model is designed to deliver consistent, high-quality events while fostering authentic rivalries, long-term storytelling, and sustained fan engagement — transforming boxing from a series of one-off events into a scalable global sports league.

Pacquiao’s involvement underscores a broader industry shift, aligning fighters, teams, and stakeholders through shared incentives, revenue participation, and long-term value creation. By integrating elements of franchise ownership and league governance, TBL establishes a more stable and economically aligned ecosystem for athletes and investors alike.

“This isn’t just about Manny being an active fighter — this is the first step in Manny building an empire around boxing,” said Jas Mathur, CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions. “This is a nine-figure platform play focused on ownership, participation, and long-term upside. We are shifting boxing from transactions to ownership and building a global ecosystem that will support fighters, teams, and partners for years to come.”

Through this partnership, Manny Pacquiao Promotions will play a central role in accelerating TBL’s global expansion strategy. Leveraging Pacquiao’s worldwide recognition and influence, MPP will help drive new market entry, brand partnerships, and cross-industry collaborations spanning sports, media, and digital platforms — further positioning TBL as a next-generation sports property with international reach.

“I’m proud to be an owner of Manny Pacquiao’s San Diego TJ’s,” Pacquiao added. “This is my team, and I’m excited to build something special by bringing great fighters, strong competition, and a winning culture to fans around the world.”

In addition to franchise ownership, the San Diego TJ’s will serve as a cornerstone for talent development, competitive excellence, and brand-building within the league. The team is expected to attract elite fighters while cultivating emerging talent, reinforcing Pacquiao’s long-standing commitment to mentorship and opportunity creation within the sport.

Team Boxing League also introduces a modernized economic framework for fighters, including participation in gate revenue, sponsorship opportunities, and long-term upside tied to league success. This model represents a significant advancement in athlete compensation, offering fighters the ability to build sustainable careers and generational wealth beyond individual bouts.

With a focus on structure, scalability, and next-generation opportunity, Team Boxing League is positioning itself as a transformative force in boxing — redefining how the sport is organized, monetized, and experienced on a global scale.

  • Beyond Wrestling: fighting sports available for betting

Beyond Wrestling: fighting sports available for betting

Beyond Wrestling: fighting sports available for betting at 1xBet

Despite delighting all fighting sports fans, the characteristics of wrestling make it one of the sports with the fewest parallel betting markets at bookmakers such as 1x Cambodia. However, fighting fans have several other great options to combine their passion for the sport with opportunities to make money.

Here, you will see some of these good options. We will cover the markets available in each of them. This is because betting on the winner of the fight tends to be less profitable than these other possibilities, so it is essential to know all the options offered by bookmakers.

    UFC

MMA fights, especially in the UFC, are certainly among the main betting opportunities for all bookmaker users. There are several factors that contribute to this. As the fight schedule is very well defined and the events are highly anticipated, expectations grow, and this drives the betting market weeks before each fight.

In other words, the betting odds before the fights can vary greatly over the weeks. This brings opportunities for bettors who like to use the cashout strategy. This consists of betting on an event and, over time, depending on the volume of bets, the odds go up or down. Then, users can withdraw their bet and keep the profit related to the movement of the odds.

Another factor is that the UFC has a huge audience and, consequently, extensive coverage by bookmakers. As a result, many betting markets are offered. These markets are usually more profitable than the moneyline for the fight winner. In addition, they are more predictable through analysis and study of previous fights. Here are the main betting options:

    • Moneyline – This is a bet on the winner of the fight. In other words, it is the simplest type of bet. Care must be taken, as several factors can influence the result.
    • Total Rounds – Bookmakers set certain lines with numbers of rounds, and users bet on these lines in the Over/Under system.
    • Final round – You can bet on which round the fight will end.
    • Method of victory – Users can bet on how the fight will end. The options available are decision, submission, knockout, or technical knockout. As there are several options, the odds are usually good. This is a great market, as it allows for high accuracy through detailed analysis.

The UFC also allows some long-term bets, for example, even betting on factors related to fights that are not scheduled. In addition, there is a good variety of special bets on factors that do not specifically depend on the fight. The main example is betting on which fight on the card will have the largest audience.

    Boxing

Boxing fights are also a good option for sports bettors who are fans of combat sports. The main factor that makes them advantageous is the large number of events. Unlike the UFC and Wrestling, where fights take place on specific days and with a time interval between events, the boxing calendar is more constant.

Therefore, it is a suitable fight for bettors who prefer to establish strategies for consistent, long-term winnings. Meanwhile, WWE and MMA events are more geared toward occasional bettors.

Boxing markets are scarcer. In general, it is only possible to bet on the winner of the fight and the total number of rounds. Bookmakers usually offer lines according to the favoritism of a fighter in each event. In events where there is a clear favorite, the Over/Under 5.5 rounds line is offered. In more balanced fights that tend to last longer, the Over/Under 9.5 rounds market is offered.

    Wrestling Betting – NXT

As we said, the characteristics of wrestling as a spectacle mean that there are not many betting possibilities. The fact that the winners are pre-determined makes this impossible. However, it is still possible to bet on NXT and other wrestling events.

One tip is to make the 1xBet download to bet on your cell phone through an app. This makes the activity more dynamic, bringing some advantages to bettors:

    Features Advantages
Login speed If you are watching a fight and decide to place a quick bet, it is easier to access bookmakers via your smartphone.
Movement speed Movements on smaller screens are faster than on computers, making betting quicker.
Notifications By turning on notifications for the betting app, you can receive exclusive offers for betting on wrestling.
