  • WWE vs AEW: Ultimate Forbidden Door Dream Matches

WWE vs AEW: Ultimate Forbidden Door Dream Matches

It’s almost that time of the year. The “Forbidden Door” continues to drive conversation across professional wrestling. While collaboration between promotions has increased, many of the most compelling matchups remain hypothetical. The chances of a WWE x AEW collaboration are slim to none. That gap leaves room for fans to imagine what a truly open landscape could deliver.

Here is a look at 10 modern dream matches, with each offering a unique reason to believe it could define a cross-promotional super show.

    Seth Rollins vs. Will Ospreay

Seth Rollins vs. Will Ospreay would likely steal the show on any card. Both are known for constantly evolving their in-ring style, pushing limits in ways few others attempt. It would be fast, unpredictable and filled with moments designed to go viral. Their online beef years ago showed true animosity, and each would love to prove that they are the best in the world.

    Gunther vs. Kazuchika Okada

Gunther vs. Kazuchika Okada is built for fans who appreciate precision and storytelling. Gunther’s punishing offense would clash with Okada’s calm control and timing. This is the type of match where every strike and counter actually matters. This is the definition of a wrestling match should feel like.

    Rhea Ripley vs. Jamie Hayter

Rhea Ripley vs. Jamie Hayter would be defined by its physicality. A brutal bar fight that just happens to take place in a squared circle. Both competitors bring a level of intensity that feels different from most of their peers. It would likely be a hard-hitting, no-nonsense fight from start to finish.

Chad Gable vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Chad Gable vs. Zack Sabre Jr is a technical wrestling showcase. ZSJ is not a AEW talent, but we are letting it slide. This is too awesome to ignore. Gable’s Olympic background meets Sabre’s unpredictable submission game, creating endless possibilities. This is the kind of match that rewards fans who pay attention to the smallest details. Put Bryan Danielson on commentary and this would be a wrestling technicians dream.

    Bianca Belair vs. Mercedes Moné

Bianca Belair vs. Mercedes Moné has the feel of a true main event. Because it already did happen, well, kind of. Bianca vs. Sasha main evented WrestleMania 37. This time it would be even better. Mercedes’ skill set seems to be even better and more evolved since leaving WWE. Both bring elite athleticism and the ability to perform under the brightest lights. It is the type of matchup that could headline a stadium and feel right at home.

CM Punk vs. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page

Yup, you read that correctly. CM Punk vs. Hangman Adam Page carries real-life tension that adds depth. This match with the stakes at hand now would sell out any arena. Their previous encounter only scratched the surface of what the story could be. A rematch would feel more personal, and blur the lines of kayfabe. Fans would genuinely ask themselves “is this real or not?”

    Swerve Strickland vs. Je’Von Evans

Swerve Strickland vs. Je’Von Evans is a blend of present star power and future potential. Swerve’s confidence and control contrast with Evans’ speed and explosiveness. Swerve acknowledgjng Je’Vons greatness this early on feels like it adds to the mystique. Seeing photos of them together at events feels like seeing Tupac and Biggie without the beef. Swerve adding power and strength to his resume has only made this match even more desirable. This feels like the kind of match that could elevate Evans instantly into the main event scene.

    Kris Statlander vs. Bayley

Kris Statlander vs. Bayley offers a strong stylistic contrast. Statlander’s strength and physicality would be tested against Bayley’s ring IQ, experience and adaptability. Out of all the matches listed, I think this one has the best chance of happening. It is a matchup that fans see on the card and go “ oh, I have to see this!”

Becky Lynch vs. Timeless Toni Storm

Becky Lynch vs. Timeless Toni Storm is as much about character as it is about wrestling. Lynch’s presence and delivery would play well off Storm’s evolving persona. Lynch would be immensely frustrated with the mental gymnastics that Toni would put her through. Characters aside, these two are arguably the best female wrestlers in the world. This is a match that could stand out both inside and outside the ring.

    Kenny Omega vs. Roman Reigns

Kenny Omega vs. Roman Reigns feels like a collision of two wrestling ideologies, not just two stars. Omega thrives on pace and innovation, and risk, while Reigns slows everything down and makes every moment feel massive. This is like Godzilla vs. King Kong. Jordan vs. LeBron. Stone Cold vs. The Rock. The contrast alone makes this the kind of match fans would analyze for years.

    BONUS MATCH

Okay, I lied. I couldn’t keep it down to just 10 matches. This is a match that would bring out the worst in tribalism, unfortunately.

The USO’s vs. The Young Bucks

The Uso’s vs. The Young Bucks is the tag team dream match fans have debated for years. Blood vs. blood. It is WWE’s most decorated modern team against one of the most influential duos in independent and AEW history. Without The Young Bucks, there is probably no Forbidden Door. The clash of styles, pacing and legacy would make this feel like a true tag team main event. Sure you’ll hear some one complain about the amount of super kicks given, but the amount of money and attention this match would get out weighs all of the petty complaints.

    Final Thoughts

A truly open Forbidden Door still faces real world complications. Contracts, egos, creative control and brand identity are not small hurdles, and every promotion has something to protect. That reality is why these matches still live more in discussion than in execution.

From a fan perspective, though, that is part of the appeal. The internet chatter, the fantasy booking and the constant “what if” keep the concept alive in a way that no single event fully could. And if the industry continues to trend toward collaboration, even in small steps, it only takes one breakthrough moment to turn one of these dream matches into something real.

  • The Wrestlemania Rundown: The Cody Edition

The Wrestlemania Rundown: The Cody Edition

Wrestlemania 42 is officially in the books and.. boy did it fly by! It came and it went. What a weekend. Welcome to the Wrestlemania Rundown: The Cody Edition. Where I give my thoughts and opinions and you either agree or disagree. Let’s get into it!

I want to get this out of the way. In my humble opinion, night 2 saved the weekend. Night 2 had the star power, the matches, and the build for these matches were better than half of the matches on night 1.

So let’s start from the top. John Cena comes out and welcomes everyone back for night 2 of Wrestlemania after a historic and incredible night 1. Now I don’t know what show Cena watched. But I don’t think we watched the same one. He hyped up Oba VS Lesnar and then walked away.

First up, was the match I have been looking forward to since it was announced, Oba VS Lesnar. Now I’ve seen a lot of people say that the match was way too short. Here’s the thing. For me it lived up to the expectations. This match was made to make Oba Femi look strong and it did just that. It gave Oba his mania moment. It was chaos, it was fun, and the people love Femi. The talk of the night was the ending. When the match was over, Lesnar stayed back and took his gloves and boots off and laid them in the ring. Heyman and Lesnar were very emotional to close it as he left the ring. So is he retired? I don’t think so. But we shall see. Rating: 8/10

Next up, the 6 man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship. The attires? On point. The match? Incredible, this match was everything I expected it to be and more. It had the athleticism, the crowd was in it, it had the spots, and the moments. It was a true Wrestlemania style ladder match. I truly didn’t expect Penta to win but to my surprise he did and I was very okay with it. Rating: 9.5/10

Up next, Trick Williams VS Sami Zayn for the United States Championship. This match was good. I wish I had more and Trick got showcased more than he did, this match seemed to of flew by. Trick is over and Vegas HATED Sami. Trick winning the title was the right call. WWE needs to continue pushing him to the moon. Rating: 7/10

Next was the return of the alter ego. The Demon. Dirty Dom Mysterio VS Finn Balor. Before I go into the match I just wanna say. These entrances were fantastic. The king of the luchadores entrance was great and the return of the demon was excellent. I said out loud during Finn’s entrance “he actually looks happy and looks like he’s having fun”. The match itself lived up to the story. It had everything. The addition of the street fight stipulation was a welcomed one and I feel like added a little more excitement. However I wish I had more. More outside of the ring moments and maybe even some in the crowd moments. But this match was great. I would say this was probably my 3rd favorite match of the night. 8.5/10

Next was the Woman’s Championship match. First things first. I hated that Rhea came out last with no special entrance. I get that they may of done that for a reason but I just didn’t enjoy it. This match was pretty good. Another match I think we needed more of. The addition of IYO got a huge pop and I was very happy with that. Rhea winning was okay. We knew it would happen. I was hoping for a swerve and they kept building Jade up and getting her better but I guess not. Let’s see what’s next for her. Rating: 7/10

The Danhausen segment was incredible. I loved everything about it and I love that they are going all in on Danhausen. He is incredible and very good for WWE.

The main event. The match to end the weekend. Incredible, outstanding. I have so many words I could use but you would be reading this for a while. This match was everything. We knew that Roman would most likely be winning this one and at the end of the night. He ultimately did. I’m interested to see what they do with Punk now. How often is Roman going to show up? Is this ultimately leading to Riyadh for the rumored Rock VS Roman match? I guess we will wait and see. Rating: 9/10

That’s it! Mania is over and in the books. The build now begins for the next one. Obviously we still have the Raw after Mania which is normally a very big show as well as the Smackdown after Mania. What’s in store? Who knows! It’s post Wrestlemania season.. anything can happen! But for now I give Wrestlemania 42 an overall rating of 7/10.

Thank you for joining me on the Wrestlemania Rundown: The Cody Edition. Maybe this will become a thing for all PLE’s. Who knows! But until then remember to subscribe to Bodyslam.net and follow us for all things wrestling.

WrestleMania: Rhea Ripley Becomes WWE Women’s Champion

The sole women’s match on WrestleMania 42 Night 2 was the co-main event. Jade Cargill defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley, who earned this match after winning the Elimination Chamber.

    https://x.com/bodyslamnet/status/2046018646535803072?s=46

The women were going at it early, brawling and throwing hands in the early going. Sadly, this match didn’t get a lot of time, but they filled it with as much action as they could, including Jade Cargill hitting the One Winged Angel.

    https://x.com/bodyslamnet/status/2046019502303744383?s=46

Michin and B-Fab got involved and suddenly, things got chaotic. IYO Sky then made her way out and took them both out with a springboard Moonsault, which distracted Jade Cargill and led to Rhea Ripley hitting the Riptide for the win. The new WWE Women’s Champion is Rhea Ripley.

  • WrestleMania 42 Night 2 Preview and Predictions: Full Match Picks

WrestleMania 42 Night 2 Preview and Predictions: Full Match Picks

WrestleMania 42 wraps up Sunday, April 19, with a loaded Night 2 card that will shape WWE’s direction moving forward. The show is headlined by Roman Reigns challenging CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship. Several other title matches and key matchups round out the night.

    Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi

This is one of the most intriguing matches on the card. Oba Femi has momentum, but WWE often takes a cautious approach with rising stars. Brock Lesnar winning keeps him strong for future programs, and I don’t think he loses until his retirement match. To clarify, these predictions are not what I would do, but how I see WWE working.

    Winner: Brock Lesnar

    Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match

Penta defends against Rusev, Dragon Lee, Rey Mysterio, Je’Von Evans and JD McDonagh. The match lacks a strong story, but the field suggests a showcase. Rey Mysterio stands out as a potential surprise winner in a moment-driven match.

    Winner: Rey Mysterio

    United States Championship Match

Sami Zayn defends against Trick Williams. A character shift appears likely, with Zayn leaning heel and Williams gaining momentum as a fan favorite. Williams feels positioned for a breakout moment.

    Winner: Trick Williams

    Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio

The long running Judgment Day story has cooled, but Balor bringing back his Demon persona signals a decisive outcome. Dominik Mysterio remains effective regardless of results.

    Winner: Finn Balor

    WWE Women’s Championship Match

Jade Cargill defends against Rhea Ripley. With uncertainty around Bianca Belair’s status due to being pregnant, Cargill retaining keeps options open for a future title change tied to Belair’s return. But that seems like a long time from now. I think changes plans.

    Winner: Rhea Ripley

    World Heavyweight Championship Match

CM Punk defends against Roman Reigns in the main event. Reigns regaining the title creates fresh storyline paths and potential rivalries. Punk’s direction may shift following a loss.

    Winner: Roman Reigns

    Final Thoughts

WrestleMania 42 Night 2 looks set to deliver defining moments, with title changes, breakout performances and major storyline shifts all on the table. By the end of the night, WWE should have a clearer picture of its next era (another one?), with new stars rising and familiar names continuing to shape the main event scene.

-Michin & B Fab leave the ring as Cargill tells Ripley that while Ripley keeps talking, she’ll make things quick.

-Ripley says she doesn’t want to be like Cargill and says she’s been fighting people like Cargill her entire life.

Jade Cargill: I Would Love Paul Heyman To Be My Manager

Jade Cargill would love to have the man of a million names by her side throughout her WWE career.

During a chat with 8 News Now — Las Vegas for the WWE’s build to this weekend’s WrestleMania 42 event, the current WWE Women’s World Champion, Jade Cargill spoke about the impact that was left on her by Joanie Laurer, a.k.a. Chyna and how she’d love to add the WWE Intercontinental Championship to her list of accomplishments with a certain Wiseman in her corner.

“Of course,” Cargill responded when asked if she’d be interested in the Intercontinental Championship. “If they let me and — listen, I would love Paul Heyman to be my manager if I’m going that route. But, if they let me, I would love that and I would take over for sure. Of course.” The interviewer said Cargill and Heyman would be next-level, and she responded, “Let it happen, guys. Let it happen.”

The current holder of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship is AJ Lee, she is set to defend the gold against former champion, Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42 this weekend.

  • Rhea Ripley: It’s Hard Going On Twitter, It’s Negative Towards Me Even Though They Don’t Know Who The Hell I Am

Rhea Ripley: It’s Hard Going On Twitter, It’s Negative Towards Me Even Though They Don’t Know Who The Hell I Am

Rhea Ripley comments on the online discourse she has faced throughout the course of her career.

Whether it’s Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media platform, the comments left by “fans” of pro wrestling have been targeted towards Rhea Ripley, whether it’s how she portrays her character on WWE TV or who she is off-screen when she is spending time with her husband, pets, and friends.

Recently, Ripley made an appearance where she spoke to Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle on Pod Meets World and opened up more about how she developed an eating disorder because of the horrible things said about her.

“It goes through waves where it’s really difficult and then sometimes really easy. This past year has been really difficult because I find that if my circle at home isn’t at peace, then that’s when I really struggle. That’s why I try to surround myself with people that I know are there for me and care for me. That’s my strong point. My husband [Buddy Matthews] is my strong point. My dogs are my strong point. My friend Tommy, who is always at our house every day, he’s my strong point. We work out together and it’s a positive environment. It’s really hard going onto Twitter. I need to delete that. It’s hard going on and trying to make it a work environment, but then, because it is a work environment, I get all these things coming up on my For You page. As soon as I click on the app, it’s negative towards me. I can’t even escape it or doomscroll like a normal human without seeing things about me, about my body, about my booking, about me as a human, even though they don’t know who the hell I am. It does get really tiring, but that’s also why I like to share what I’m going through.

“I tried to keep the whole eating disorder quiet for a while because I’m still figuring it out. I try to be as vocal with my struggles as possible because if it’s going to help someone, then why not talk about it? I needed that when I was going through stuff as a kid. If I knew my idols were going through these struggles and they are powering through and being amazing, and I look up to them and think they are strong and larger than life, then I can get through it too. That’s why I’m vocal about what I’m going through. With this whole eating situation, it definitely stems from stress and not being in control. That’s my biggest thing. I’m a very in control person. I like being in control of a lot of things. When I can’t control work and my schedule, and at the time, my home life with one of my now ex-friends just terrorizing my life. Going to Australia and not being able to control how the crowd responds to my peers and pressuring them 24/7 and getting thrown into all this media for that, it was a lot all at once, and it kind of broke me for a little bit, but it wasn’t seen by everyone yet. Now, it’s being seen by everyone. I saw so many things. ‘She had to lose weight because of her back pain.’ ‘She’s off the roids.’ We get tested. I’m not on anything.”

Ripley is set to challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42 on Sunday night.

Rhea Ripley Reveals Which WrestleMania Matches She’s Excited For

Rhea Ripley is set for a huge WrestleMania match against Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship. But, they’re not the only women’s match on the card. We have four women’s championship matches on the card, and Rhea is looking forward to them.

Rhea Ripley recently spoke with Joe La Puma on an episode of Sneaker Shopping with Complex, where she was asked what she’s looking forward to besides her match at WrestleMania 42. Of course, she has her eyes on the women’s division.

“Oh, I’m looking forward to pretty muchall of them. Um, obviously I always keep my eyes on the women’s division. Becky and AJ, I want to watch that. That’s a big one. And I want to pay attention to Liv verse Stephanie. That’s also a big one. And the women’s world championship, it holds a place in my heart. So, I want to see what the outcome is of that match and see how that title is going to be treated. My poor baby.”

As it stands, Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley is the only women’s match scheduled for Sunday, night two of WrestleMania. So, Rhea will be in the clear to kick back and enjoy the other three women’s matches on Saturday, April 18.
